The beta
What to expect
CustodyMap is being built in the open by a very small team. It is free while in beta. Here is what that means in practice.
What works today
- Building a schedule from a typical rotation or by painting your own, with handoff times.
- The dashboard: who has the kids now, the next handoff, a month calendar you can click.
- Day swaps, either approved by the other parent through a link or changed by one parent.
- Proposing a whole new schedule and sharing it for approval by email code.
- The record of every change, readable in the app.
- Reporting: overnights and hours, by month and year, with a spreadsheet export.
- Importing school and activity calendars from a link.
- A private calendar feed you can subscribe to from Apple Calendar or any other app.
Being switched on during the beta
- Live, read-only shared calendars in Google Calendar and Outlook, with handoff reminders.
- Sign in with Google, Microsoft, and Apple.
- Reading school calendars from a PDF or a photo.
- Sending approval links by text message as well as email.
Until each of these is on, the app says so in plain words where you would expect the feature.
Your data
Your schedule, swaps, and record are kept and backed up nightly. We do not plan to reset anything before launch. The product around the data will keep changing, sometimes a lot. If you delete your account, access stops at once and, after a short grace period, the history is sealed into a locked archive and everything else is deleted. The draft privacy note says what we store and why.
Reporting a problem
Email hello@custodymap.com with what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened. A screenshot helps. We read every message and we reply.
What we ask of you
Tell us when something is confusing, not just when it is broken. The whole point of this product is that it is easy on a bad day. If it is not, that is a bug.
